Double Rainbow Passage

Images

As an artist, I'm way better at working with physical stuff than drawing. The explanations of this installation should therefore give the primary imagery, with the following attempts at doing diagrams serving simply to reinforce what is described in the texts.

Artistic perspective rendition of the Double Rainbow Passage during the day. The obelisks are 10' high, spaced 20' from each other, with the passage aligned with The Man along the 7:30 axis. Thanks to Amélie Gadbois for the drawing.
Perspective in the daytime

Artistic perspective rendition of Double Rainbow Passage at night. All 11 colors of the rainbow are illuminated in this picture strictly for illustrative purposes. In actuality, only a few pairs will generally be lit at once, depending on the levels of participant interaction. Even with high interaction levels (lots of people) the obelisks will be flashing madly rather than be statically illuminated like this.

The Arduino microcontroller, wired up and programmed by Jody McIntyre to run the Double Rainbow Passage installation. He calls it the Double Board.
